Frequently asked questions
Why are GIFs so big?
GIF is an old format that stores every frame separately. Lower the width (e.g. 320 px) or the frame rate (e.g. 10 fps) and keep the range short.
How long can the GIF be?
Up to 30 seconds. For sharing, 2–6 second GIFs work best.
Does a GIF have sound?
No, GIF can't carry audio. For a short clip with sound, cut an MP4 with the Video trimmer.
Is it really free?
Yes. These tools are completely free — no sign-up, no credits, no watermark. Your file is processed on your device, so it costs us nothing.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Your file is processed in your browser and never leaves your device. The internet is only used to open the page.
Is there a file limit?
Videos up to 2 GB and 30 minutes. Processing time depends on your device; keep the tab open for long videos.
Which browsers are supported?
Works best in current Chrome, Edge and Opera. Some video tools are limited in Safari and Firefox; a tool tells you clearly when your browser can't run it.
